A Little Bit about my submission: This poem was written the morning after my cat died on April 18 2002. He was my best friend and faithful companion. I will never get over the pain of losing him. It seems ironic that the one that always got me through all my tough times can't be there for me now. That makes it so much harder to move on from this. A Little Bit about my submission: My best buddy was my alarm clock, even on the days, when I could have used more sleep. He was a domestic long hair and siamese mix. Shadow came into my life when he could fit in the palm of my hand-he was bearly even weaned. He was with me always until yesterday(he was my shadow), unfortunally he devoloped a type of cancer in cats that it is an aggressive cancer that started with a tumor under his tongue and spread throughout his body within 7 weeks and I couldn't help him in morre. He was my best friend and my confidant for so many years that he will always be in my heart. I had to let him go-his eyes let me know that.He will be with my forever because of the love we shared and I know I will see him again.

We are still in shock over losing him as we only found out on the 6th of March that he was in Renal failure. We have this big hole in our hearts and the pain is so deep.
