I can still remember racing through the snow on that dogsled, Dakota and Gus in front of me running their hearts out and enjoying every stride. You could tell they were happy just by the way they looked at you their eyes wide and shiny, and their tails all curled and wagging uncontrollably over their back. How I wish it was all the same.
You see, Dakota was one of my huskies and we bred her and Gus and Dakota then had a litter of 8 puppies. We kept two of them one was a little brown and white husky named Timber and the other was a black and white husky named Rocky. Well day by day I watched both Timber and Rocky play happily together and Dakota would do the same with them too. At the age of 3 months Timber and Rocky were running and having the best time of their lives together. Dakota was just as happy watching them have fun.
One night wile we were all asleep Dakota, Timber and Rocky got out of their pen. Dakota had dug a hole underneath the fence and when see got out Timber and Rocky followed. Well she went to one of our neighbors houses. He has goats and Dakota got in some how even thoe the fence was 5' high she got in and even thoe I dont believe this so did Rocky and Timber. Dakota must have gotten ahold of one of the goats and the owner Jim Rosenberger came out and saw what was going on. From what I have heard, He grabbed a shovel and a Gun and ran into the goat pen in which Dakota and her pups were and took a shovel and beat Dakota and Timber unconcious then shot them. Rocky got away with bullets in his feet he will no longer be able to run in the team. A hope that someday I will see them again and I miss them so much it is like there is a hole in my heart where they once were, so I just wish I knew how to say goodbye to them but Im afriad I never will.
Thank You for all the love you gave me Dakota and Timber
