Big Man on Campus
by Terry & Diane & gang Masters
You loved to hear stories. Stories about how we vivited you before we finally took you home, stories about picnics held in honour of your breed. Matter of fact , you would lie there and listen to us discussing every day stuff and you would think it was a story about you.You gave us so much love, you couldn't get closer to us if we were made out of the same skin.So gentle where you trod, such a big dog who weighed nothing when you leaned on us. You gave us eight wonderful years and we hoped for more but your illness of lymphatic sarcoma overcame you so quickly. Only sisteen days to prepare for the end. You enjoyes your walk with Brandy in the Shenandoahs but suffered through the nine hour ride home. We just couldn't let you die so far away. The vet was waiting when we got home and daddy & I spent the most horrific evening of our lives, saying good-bye to you.We could have avoided the pain, but we would have had to miss the dance. You were the best rhodesian ridgeback there ever was.we will talk of you proudly forever, my R man.
