We went to see some puppies, Great Pyrenees and Border Collie mix we were told. We drove up the driveway and there you were, a little white fluffball with a badger marked face. We had never seen anything so adorable in our lives and we knew we had to have you. We brought you home to live with us when you were only 10 weeks old. Little did we know the immediate bond we all would feel for each other. You came everywhere with us - you were the best! You never complained, just so happy that you were with us. You had the most soulful eyes we had ever seen and the way you cocked your head was precious. Everything about you so majestic and beautiful. Little did we know when we left for vacation that you were ailing. If we had only known we would have never left you, but maybe you planned it that way, knowing how hard we would take it. The doctors told us it was sudden kidney failure. It is coming up on 9 months now and it feels like yesterday that we lost you, our dear, dear Nikita. We have never felt such heartache, such loss, such sorrow. Because of our love for you Nikita, and your breed, we have welcomed another Great Pyrenees into our home. She is just beautiful and reminds us of you in so many ways - a little bit of Heaven has come to us through her. There will never be another you, though - you were certainly unique in so many ways. We feel so blessed to have shared almost 13 years of our lives with you - it was Heaven having you as our companion and we will see you again one day and be able to pet that beautiful head and look into your deep, trusting eyes once more. We remember you each and everyday, our dear, dear Nikita - Love, Mommy & Daddy
