The best thing anyone could ever be given is a best friend. My beast friend was Noah, a short beagle/basset mix, with stubby legs, a big head and an even bigger personality. I am only 16 years old and he had been given to me for christmas, while i had been sick for a long time. i was home alot and he stayed with me, even when i tried to take him out, and he neede it, he would still stick with me until my mom came home. The first night at his new home i was upstairs and he was downstairs, he made it somehow over the baby gate up the log stairs and into my bed, and what a wonderful surprise it was to find him there. He was like an angle, watching over me, all the time. He got me out of bed by taking things that i wanted, and bringing them to the other side of my room. i got better and returned to school, after a brief stay at the hospital, a gruling 4 days away from my baby. but he was right there when i got back, and including every day after school.
we only had him for a short time. sadly, one beautiful summer day. a little boy came over to play and left the door open, Noah, being of basset decent, had a nose that would lead him anywhere, and it happend to lead him onto the raod, where he was killed by an oncomming car. i fell into a deep depression and didnt was to get out of bed... but hinking of that smile he used to put on my face made me. i did it for him, and i owe him my life, i just wish i could give him back his.
