Peaches

Who could imagine that a tiny bird could steal our hearts? After losing our beloved dog, Puff, to canine cancer we swore that we would never have another pet. But God brought you into our lives and into our hearts. Who knew that you were sick? You hid it so well. When you finally showed signs of illness it was too late. A large tumor was attached to your tiny liver and was growing every day. We wished you to get strong enough to have surgery, but instead had to admit that you were dying. We helped you from this world and the illness that was taking you. But the year that we shared with you brought warmth to our hearts that we thought would never heal. Playing hide and seek under the blanket, chewing up everything on the bulletin board, riding Mom's poodle like a cowboy, hanging upside down, doing the 'lovebird' split, eating chips and Cheerios, taking a bath in the rock fountain, pooping on everything and everybody, throwing seeds, looking at yourself in the mirror.... The memories go on and on. We love you little green man! We thank God for bringing you into our lives and giving us the courage to end our time together. May your forever fly free from pain and illness until we meet again. Peace.
