Not just a dog
by Candi Weaver
I met Jack three years ago. He was standing outside my car door when I came home from work one day. He was a stray looking for a home. He looked up at me with his big brown eyes. I took him in and he was so good. He never had an accident. He was a beautiful black and white Border Collie. He loved to play with my 2 year old daughter. He also loved to play in the snow. He loved long walks and long car rides. He hated thunder he would hide in my shoes closet every time it would storm. He also hated taking a bath.He was so smart. My family loved him so much. I can`t imagine my life without him. Jack crossed on saturday May 18 2002. I was at work when my husband called me and told me to come home Jack was dead. I raced forty minutes home to find my five year old best friend dead in the bedroom. I couldn`t understand what happened. Jack had been fine that morning. I had taken him out that morning and he was fine running around the house. My husband told me that he yelped and dropped over dead. My husband shook him and begged him to come back. He didn`t. Our vet told us that he died from a blood vessel that popped in his brain. Also called a brain anorism. He didn`t suffer and it was very quick. Their was nothing we could of did for him. We all miss him very very much. I am having a very hard time with his sudden death. I wish he could of watched my kids grow up. I will always love him forever. He will be greatly missed. How I wish I could of said goodbye.
