It seems like only yesterday
You stepped into my heart
On four furry little feet
And you were my shadow.
Everyday you were right behind me,
Thru the good times and the bad
Manys the time I would turn and have to stop
To keep from stepping on you.
Everything I did was one step ahead of you
From laundry room to bathroom
Im told when I was away you slept a lot
But you always met me at the door
Dad told me no one would ever love me more then he did
Till you came along
Even when you grew old and sick
Youd do your best to get up and follow
