My Frist Loss
by Nicole Machemer
A piece of of heart has just dissappeared, my very best friend for the last twelve years. The only one who would never lie, or tell a secret even after they die. The one who loved to hear me play, is the same one that greeted me each and every day. The one I went to for comfort and relief, the one who would always look up from beneath. My Sandy is gone, she lives no more and I pray everyday she is happier than before. I never thought the day would come, when I'd walk into my home and find myself all alone. All of my socks are neatly in place, and hair on my black pants, well there isn't a trace. The sound of a sliding dish on the floor, and barking for cookies is heard no more. Hiding in shrubs from the hot, hot sun, or lying in dirt seemed to be a lot of fun. I always shared my food and took a break to get a hug, My Sandy is missed, but still very much loved. I will never forget my sweet little dog, and if I ever want to see her, she is right in my front lawn. Sandy was my stress relief and the first thing I've ever truely loved and lost:(
