Dear Grit-Grat (Giggy, Giggy-Butt, GG) You and Baxter came to us from Cold Nose Warm Heart Rescue (CNWH). Your name was Scrat, and daddy said,'what the heck name is that?) He then just said Grit-Grat, and it stuck. Plus we called you Giggy, Giggy-Butt, and GG. You were only here two months and we flunked fostering both of you and officially adopted you both in May 2013. You lived here 12-1/2 years. You always did your Giggy Butt thing. Always being nowsy and running here and there. You loved to just sit and watch. Daddy use to say you were guarding the yard and the house. You loved to sit by the fence on the sidewalk then bark at anything you saw. You loved sitting on the patio on summer nights while daddy and I were out there. You use to lay like a frog with your back legs out. You weren't much for going bye-bye's. You always got so nervous when I had to take you somewhere even if it was just for your birthday going to PetSmart. You put up with all the dogs that were here. Mya loved you so much. She was attached to you 24/7/365. I don't think she knows what to do now. It is quite sad. We lost your brother Baxter 6/22/22. You seemed ok after that though. You use to love running to the foyer getting your pills in deli meat and running to get your bone at night then running back to your bed and hopping in it. It was so cute. Then you didn't want the deli meat any more, and couldn't walk in the foyer on the tile, so we stopped that. Two years ago you had the big lump on your side and we took it off only for it to come back. We removed it again a year later, and it came back yet again. I put you on some holistic remedies with a chemo capsule, and held it back for a while then came back fully. You then got kidney disease and you back legs got so weak it was hard for you to walk and hold yourself up. You were still a lil spitfire for a while until that Friday night I heard a noise downstairs, and it was you. You got yourself on the tile and was stuck. You then had peed and were lying in a puddle. You were so stressed. Mommy cleaned you up and got you comfortable, and I knew it was time. Dr. Michelle was wonderful coming to the house at 10:30 pm. You were so out of it, you didn't even know what was happening. You left here so peacefully. I hope all your furry brothers and sisters greeted you at the Bridge along with daddy. Run free, my sweet boy. I will miss you so badly, and I love you very much. I think I will be seeing you real soon. This is just a goodbye for now.
