Memories of Dolly
Oh Dolly (Doobs) as Daddy would call you. You fought so hard a long battle that we didn't know what we were fighting. You were a tough girl - - that's my rottie/pittie. You had been thru so much in your life - losing your toe, then Cushings Disease then Addison's Disease along with Thyroid Disease, but you came thru. Then you got hit with whatever it was that took you away from us. We did every test under the sun and couldn't find a darn thing wrong. We treated with what we thought may be wrong and it worked for a while. You had your good days and bad days. We tried to help you. You use to look forward to come up to your crate every night until you couldn't go up/down the stairs anymore so daddy slept downstairs with you. You still lived a long wonderful life and mommy and daddy love you so and will miss you terribly. Harry will miss you too. I had planned to end your suffering on Wednesday, 12/12/12 and that decision was very hard and you knew that so you decided to save mommy and daddy the pain and go to the bridge on your own the day before. I had just brought you inside and put you on your bed and I covered you. I did my morning routine and got ready for work. I came down to say goodbye not knowing it was truly goodbye. Rest now my sweet girl. I hope Grandma, Bob, Nanny, Aunt Margie, Hannah, Parker, Morty, Caley, Simba, and Casey met you at the bridge. Until we meet again. Have fun in your new home and enjoy lying in the sun on the green grass.

Oh Dear Dolly Girl,

I can't believe it's been a year already. Harry now has company but it's not the same. I hope you greeted Chloe when she went to the bridge and that you're all getting along now even with Hannah. Run free, sweet girl. Enjoy and mommy and daddy will see you again some day. Please check in every now and then.

Oh Sweet Dolly,

Two years has gone by so quickly. I hope you greeted Buster and Mabelline and are showing them the ropes. Lexy will be coming soon as she is not doing well. It's been a terrible few months. I hope you like where you're at and are very happy. Enjoy each day and know we will always love you.

Hi sweet girl, 3 years this morning we lost you. I can't believe how time flies. I hope you greeted Lexy, Huckles, Spunky and Pop-Pop at the bridge. It's been rough losing so many of my furry kids. I love you all. I remember the day I picked you up from the Jefferson Pound. It was a rainy Tuesday on April 7, 2003 and you vomitted in the back of the car. When you first saw daddy, you growled at him but then became his 'girl.' Harry, Grit-Grat, and Baxter are still in the family room. I hope you are all together getting along and having a wonderful life in your beautiful home. We all will be together again some day. We love you Dolly!

Hi Sweet Dolly, 4 years this morning you left to go to the bridge. I keep thinking its the 12th for some reason. Poor Harry is not doing well. He has congestive heart failure. We don't know how much time he has with us. I do hope you greet him and show him the ropes when it is 'that time.' We have been very lucky and it has been over 1 year and 2 months since we lost a fur baby. That is like a record and I am very grateful and thankful for that. We've been through so much heartache over the past few years. We love and miss all of you. Please know that. One day we will all be together. Mommy and Daddy Love you!

Hi Sweet Girl, five (5) years today we lost you. December has been an awful month through the years as we lost so many fur babies as well as Nanny. I hope you greeted Dexter and Boots at the bridge. I hope you are all together getting along and very happy. Harry has been doing well. I thank God for every day we have him. Poor Moby has anal gland cancer but is stable. Oh dear Dolly, I saw you on petfinder.com and it said all you knew was the run at the pound for 3 years since you were a puppy. I adopted you and you puked in the back of the car and growled at daddy when you first met him. You then became 'his girl.' Each and every one of you are so very special, and I love you all very much. Please be happy and enjoy until we all can be together again. Look down on us every now and then.

Hi Dooby, six (6) years now it's been since I came downstairs and found that you left for the bridge. I'm so sorry this is a few days late. Mommy has been very stressed out, and it's very hard to come on here and type. I hope you greeted Moby and Scooter at the bridge. We had a scare with Ollie but he seems better now and Harry is still as crazy as ever and still on heart meds. Christmas just is not the same any more without all of you, nanny, pop-pop, grandma, and grandpa. I hope you are all celebrating in your beautiful home. I also hope you and Hannah are getting along. Mommy and daddy think of all of you frequently. Please always look down on us. Time is going so fast, and we will be together before we know it. We love you. Merry Christmas, sweet girl!

Hi sweetheart, seven (7) years already. I can't believe it. Sorry this is late and it's daddy's birthday. December is a very hard month for mommy and daddy as we lost you, Mabes, Lexy, Nana, and Hannah. I hope you greeted Ernie, Ollie, Chrissy, Toby, and Harry at the bridge. Harry did well for so long with his heart and that's not even how we lost him. We love an miss every single one of you. Please be happy and enjoy your beautiful home. We will see you again one day. Merry Christmas, Doobs!

Hi sweet girl, eight (8) years now. I just can't believe it. Sorry this is 2 days late. It's so hard for mommy to do this. I hope your greeted Myron, Patch, and Noel at the bridge. You didn't know Myron or Patch, but I hope you greeted them anyway. There's a whole new crew here. Jessie is the only original left. She's been coughing for years, and it seems to be getting worse. Nothing seems to help her, but she's a lil spit fire though! I wish you all were here still. Please be nice to Hannah and I hope that she is nice to you. I also hope you are ALL together and getting along. The bridge must be so beautiful. We love and miss every single one of you. Please be there waiting for us. Until then, just enjoy and be happy and know how much we love and miss you. Merry Christmas!

12/11/21 - Hi sweet Doobs, nine (9) years ago you decided you were very tired and wanted to go to the bridge. I was heartbroken when I came down the stairs and you were gone. I had just let you out outside for potty and brought you back in and put you on your bed. I couldn't have been more than 10 minutes. I get so upset thinking about why the vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with you and all that weight you lost. I love the pictures of you with that big smile. Mommy and daddy miss all of you. The house is still crazy. I hope you greeted Sierra, Hailey, and Bogey at the bridge. We are down to five cats now. Please look down on us every now and then, and I hope you are all nice to each other and getting along, especially Hannah. Merry Christmas and we love you!

12/11/22 - Hi my sweet beautiful girl! Ten (10) years has passed already. I just can't believe it. I hope you greeted Baxter at the bridge on 6/22/22 and Charlie on 11/18/22. We are down to just 4 cats now. It's so weird. I'm use to 14. Cheyanne is 20 years and 2-1/2 months and a lil one-eye spit fire and Jesse is still a spit fire too and I wouldn't have it any other way. I thank God above for every day with them. The house is crazy with Boomer and Sophie joined us in January 2022. I hope you're all together with the original crew and getting along and happy. You were such a good girl, and I still get upset not knowing what took you from us. Aunt Lisa has to go in for surgery on her lung 12/20. We pray God will take care of her. Please look down on us and know we love and miss every single one of you. Run free, lay in the green pastures, and drink from crystal streams. Merry Christmas, my sweet beautiful girl. We love you!

12/12/23 - Hi sweet Doobs! Eleven (11) year has gone by. The house is still as crazy as ever with now Louie and Sophie. We lost Jazzy in 9/27/23 and Jesse is not doing so well. She's about 15-1/2. I hope you greeted Jazzy, Walter 7/3/23, and Cheyanne 4/14/23 at the bridge. Daddy has cancer but is doing okay. I hope he doesn't leave me any time soon. I hope you're all together in your beautiful home and very happy. Please be nice to everyone and you and Hannah I hope have mended your fences. Each one of you has taken a piece of our heart. Merry Christmas at the bridge, my beautiful rottie / pittie girl. We love and miss you all.

Love,

Mommy, Daddy, and All the Fur Kids
