At 11:30PM on Christmas night 2008, hubby heard you screaming outside. Going door-to-door in the windy burn of Winter. No food or water and thrown away to the cold. You were the color of the asphalt on the road. I could barely make you out, but I could hear you. I called you "here kitty, kitty, kitty". You ran up to me. So cold and so hungry and you spoke to me of loss and heart-ache. I knew you would die. So when I called you, you ran to me and told me the tale. I scooped you up in my arms and stuffed you inside my coat. We carried you to the basement and turned on all the heat. Four cans of Fancy Feast and a large bowl of water. I sat with you most of the night. That was the beginning and the middle and everything in between; until we had to give you back to The Lord. You were the precious Christmas present. The little cat who came in from the cold. My brown TabbieCat. Please also visit Angel Blue. |
