In 1992 my sister and I had gone to the pet store to buy food for her hamster. Just for the heck of it we decided to look at the puppies and that is when I saw her and fell in love. A 13 week old Skipperche. We asked if we could take her out and play with her. The lady at the pet store let us do this. The puppy was so playful that I hated to put her back in that glass window. We went home and told our parents about her. The very next night we were at the pet store buying her. I never had so much fun with a puppy before in my life. About 2 yrs after we got her we moved to another house. This is my favorite memory of her- we had a very snowy winter and we were out in the snow wrestling and had all kinds of fun. I had my son 3 yrs ago and my little Sheika was always right at his side. If he spit up she was there to lick it off. If he got to close to the lake at my dad's house she would take him by the diaper and pull him back to safety. She was just the best dog and it breaks my heart now that she is gone. My parents got another Skipperche the day after she died the same age she was when we got her only he is a male. He is just as cute but nothing will ever take her special place in any of out hearts. My heart goes out to you Sheika wherever you are. I will always love you.
