Spunky was a Lab mix that we saved from an abusive home when he was only 3 months old. We raised him into a loving funny dog who quickly became and adored part of our family. I can remember coming home from a date at night and he would be wagging his tail wating for me. I always said the same thing to greet him :My puppy, My puppy" He was so smart that we would say there was a human inside of him. Spunky was there for all the important moments Our weddings and the birth of our children (who he had complete patience with when they were toddlers. He loved to play! As we grew up unfortunately so did he. Before we knew it he was an old man that had grey hair and bad arthritis in his legs. He was loosing his hearing and his sight but we tried so hard to keep him and he tried just as hard to stay. The vets were amazed at how strong his heart was near the end. One very sad day at the age of 18 he had a stroke at home and could no longer walk at all so my mom and dad made that dreaded decision to put him down to rest. It was so hard to lose such a loved part of the family He had been around for as long as we could remember. I dont think we will ever get used to not having him around We all just pray that he is running in heaven with legs that no longer hurt and that he looks down on us and understands why we had to let him go. We love you Spunky for all you were as a dog, a companion, and a best friend. We will never forget you!!!!!!!!
