Our Golden was never fixed. After a short bout of fatigue we brought her to our regular vet where an inflamed stomach and high wbc count was found. Brandy was started on antibiotic and acid blockers for four days. On the fifth day she vomited and was found unresponsive except for moaning when we touched her abdomen. We took her to Lislse emergency vet, Lisle Illinois. We arrived at 5:45am and they are opened just til 8am. They recommended they we put Brandy to sleep. We wanted to give her every chance. We had an Iv started and some pain medication and packed her up in the car to go to our vet, which opoened at 8am. We went to Hinsdale Animal hospital where Dr arnold took Brandy for emergency surgery. She had ruptured her uterus and had massive infection. Hinsdale is like most vet hospitals, set up for short overnight stays with the vet checking on your dog periodically during the night. Brandy survived because of Dr Arnold's good care. But, long sustained care, involved us taking Brandy home on Iv's and then transferring her to Dr Mediniger at Franklin Park emergency vet hospital Made her survive..... Franklin Park emergency hospital is located on Grand avenue in Franklin Park, Illinois. It is a 24hr facility with doggy icu capacity and has many procedures that helped Brandy survive. Remember the place you take your sick vet does matter!!! $ month's later our Golden is swimming in the lake and taking 5 mile treks and eating like a pig!!!! Thanks to all involved that gave their all to get her well...and listened to us!!!!!
