Tippy
by Elisabeth Walters
I once had a dog who meant the world to me. His name was Tippy and he had been abused before we got him, he had one tooth that stuck out, and he scared some people, but my parents and I, we just knew that he was always smiling. He was the only one who loved me always, even when all my other human friends lied and laughed at me. He huddled up to me when I was sick, He licked my face and watched me when I was sad. He never left my side and when he did, I missed him. When he needed me the most, I wasnt there and I didnt care. I never fully appreciated him 'til he was gone. When he was sick, I didnt know he was dying and I got mad at him for making him clean up after him. It tears at my heart every single time that I think about it and I wish I would have taken better care of him. It will be a year in Feb 2003 and I will always remember him because he was my first dog and even though we didnt know his real age, he couldnt have been more than 10 years old.
