Our grief is deep...We sent our beloved cat to the Rainbow Bridge, Oct 20th, 2005. Mel came to live with us, in 1993...just showed up at our doorstep...invited himself in, and never left. He was the kind of cat who lived up to his name. All the cats in the neighborhood, would convene in our backyard, to play, eat, or get a drink of water. Infact, when any cat went "missing", mommies and daddies would come looking at our house, because they had heard that cats hang out at our place. One day, five years ago, Mel was diagnosed with diabetes. My husband took care of Mels needs 24/7, making sure he had his "snacks", and taking his blood sugars. Last week, Mel went into congestive heart failure. Our vet said that on ultrasound, he also had a lymphoma type tumor. The addest day of our lives..last Thursday. This was a cat who was smart enough to get out of harms way, when the howling of coyotes geting ready to hunt could be heard. This was a cat who was my sparring partner...we would "box", his little paw, and my hand..he sure could deliver a painful right hook..
We miss you so much baby...Until we meet again..We love and miss you!
