Aiko Aiko all day
by Priscilla Tofte
Aiko, Aiko all day... That's what we used to sing, for she was named for the song. She was a snow dog, Malamute, beautiful, smart and strong. We called her Princess, and indeed she was, so pristine, graceful and agile... Such a funny girl, going on walks, finding the best patch of soft grass to roll, chatting with Grandma Laura (both loved to talk), nibblets of food one kernal at a time, high fives, sneaking out to the golf course... So many fun times, I shall never forget. Now forever in our hearts for she has gone to the Great Beyond. I can't say I will ever be the same, but so thankful to have had her with us for the happy years, and so hurt to have lost her in her prime. Life is so fragile... Aiko you were so loved... I wish your heart could have carried you longer, but it could not. I wish we had known... I am so sorry and Dad, Rusty and I all miss you so... We'll be together again one day, until then roll in the grass, chase the other critters and run free at the Rainbow Bridge. Goodbye Pretty... We will always rememebr you.
