From a place calm and pink
like a warm summer sky,
He looks down upon you
and whispers "don't cry".
You look up and remember his sweet furry face,
as your mind fills with memories that time can't erase.
You think of his trips to your garden with you,
His hiding and mischief as cats sometimes do.
In the quiet of night you'll ask... "Wait! Did I hear it?"
Then you heart answers back "Yes that's him, his sweet spirit."
Your time together isn't over at all,
Hello's and meows once again he will call.
And so, if you'll say this prayer to him,
I know you'll feel him listening in.
IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY
AND MEMORIES A LANE,
I'D WALK RIGHT UP TO HEAVEN
AND BRING YOU HOME AGAIN.
Let your heart and your mind go to that place
Where Toby-wan waits for your loving embrace.
Close your eyes, blow a kiss to your friend up above,
Time's just on hold till you rejoin your love.
