Pippa's Window
by TONYA

Pippa’s Window
The car door opened, and you'd race inside,
tail wagging fast with excitement and pride.
You knew the routine, you knew every way,
and you seemed to ask, "Where are we going today?"
A pile of pillows was part of the plan,
stacked up with care by your favorite human hand.
Too small for the window? Not you, not a chance.
You'd climb to your throne and give life a glance.
Then down came the window, the moment you knew,
the world full of stories was waiting for you.
Your silver-and-tan fur danced wild in the breeze,
as you sniffed every scent that floated through trees.
But Pippa was never the timid kind,
with a spicy spirit and a determined mind.
She'd bark at the giants, she'd stand her ground,
the smallest dog there, yet the bravest around.
With a growl that declared, "I'm in charge here, you see,"
she carried herself large, proud, and free.
Though tiny in stature, her heart knew no size,
a fearless little warrior beneath Yorkie eyes. You barked at the wind and watched the road bend,
certain each mile held something to defend.
A tiny Yorkie with a heart brave and wide,
taking on the whole world from the driver’s side.
And though the car rides are quieter now,
I still see you there somehow.

Head out the window, eyes shining with glee,
chasing the air and feeling free.
So when I miss you, I won't look for goodbye.
I'll think of you riding beneath an open sky.
On a mountain of pillows, where you loved to be,
wind in your face, forever Pippa, forever free.
Goodbye, my Pippa, my brave little friend,
my love for you never will end.
The house may be quieter, the roads not the same,
yet my heart still smiles when I hear your name.
So take one more car ride beneath skies so blue,
head out the window, just as you'd do.
And know that you'll always be part of me,
forever loved, forever my Pippa, forever free.
🐾💙
In loving memory of Pippa, the spicy little Yorkie who feared no dog, loved every car ride, and left a paw print on her human's heart forever.
