His joints ached, but he knew. He knew if he could just get there His Joe would be waiting for him. He had been with his Joe since he was just a little puppy. He just had to get there. He whimpered as he remembered the day his Joe's friend came to take him. His Joe had been gone for so long and he didn't know why. His tired bones ached but he kept moving, moving toward the bridge where he knew his Joe was waiting. He thought of His sister Tessie....... but Tessie was younger, He thought of his new friend Buffy, a chihuahua just like him...... But Buffy was a baby not even 2 years old and ChiChi was 16. ChiChi just wanted his Joe. ChiChi was tired, he didn't really listen to what Buffy's person said. He didn't know that his Joe had died of Pancriatic Cancer. He just knew His Joe was waiting for him, waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. The other fur babies ran up to greet him as he came into sight but ChiChi was running........running faster than he had run in years. He was running like he had when he was Buffy's age. Because he saw his Joe and all he could see was his Joe.
"ChiChi" Joe cried as he held his furbaby. "Oh ChiChi I wanted you to be happy with my friend. I would have waited for you."
"Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe" ChiChi felt as young as his new friend Buffy. "OH JOE"
"Don't worry Joe, We'll wait for Tessie, Then all THREE of us can cross the Rainbow Bridge."
And Joe and ChiChi play with the other furbabies as they wait for Tessie at the Rainbow Bridge
In loving memory of Joe Terry and ChiChi...........Tessie will be with you both someday
