Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
It is so lonely here,
Dear, without you.
Your toys now all gathered
and given away,
Trying not to remember,
Watching you play.
Still calling your name
When we open the door,
Forgetting again -
You've gone on before.
On and on, every single day,
Remembering the happiness
You brought our way.
Though tears are falling
Deep inside our heart,
We can't help smiling -
When the memories start!
Its YOU bounding across grassy lawn!
Its YOU chasing the birds on the wing,
YOU running to welcome us home,
Precious YOU, doing your thing!
Memories of laughter, earned by You -
Memories of kisses, and love so true,
Delightfully remembering years of past gone days,
Seeing your eyes when we gave you praise.
Seeing you proudly walking your yard,
Sniffing and watching & standing gaurd.
Listening for your Daddy's step,
To take you to where the prizes were kept.
Watching you play and growl & pounce,
Making us laugh with every game,
Filling our life with love ever true.
Wondering if it will ever be the same?
Then it occured to us thru our tears,
Of all the Memories we had to hold near,
Till we meet again, at Rainbows end,
You gave us these to forever hold dear.
To warm us and conmfort us as we go sadly on,
Doing the People things we have to do,
Holding your memory close to our heart,
Till again we are united with you.
And we know what a reunion it will be,
When we cross over the valley to crystal sea -
Again to feel you safe in our arms,
What a day that will be!
Till then dear Friend.
