A Very Special Buddy Named Muffin
by Jackie Stewart
I was given the honour of being Muffins' friend and roommate. He let me share his bedroom. He was living with the lady who was Miss Vancouver at the time and she named in Muffin. so at 9 months he cameto live with me. Right from the start I knew this was not an ordinary kitten. He liked to eat the inside part of the pumpkin and most of all he liked frozen peas. He just started eating vegtables and fruit oneday as well as his Iams catfood. Have you ever seen a orange furry cat running around with a cherry in his mouth. For 21 years we went everywhere together, he knew it was me when I came home from work and was at the door to say hello. we even played tag, I chase him and he would chase me. Muffin cheated. Every morning the alarm went off and he was there for his morning hug and breakfast. I think he was the only cat that thought that a tree was to rub his back against and didn't know how to climb a tree. That was good, because I think getting down would be even more difficult. I can still see Muffin running through the house. Just today I was looking at my kitten Bobby and I saw Muffin. I still feel he is there with me and he will always be. I never knew I could love someone so much. He was filled with so much pride even at the end of his life here. Maybe one day I can read the Rainbow Bridge poem without crying. Just Maybe. Thank you Muffin for your love and friendship, I will meet you at the Rainbow Bridge and we will cross toghether. I think that FiFi and Muffin are playing toghether right now. They are strong and whole again. All my love forever, Jackie
