He gave me so much in life, I had him when I was just a little boy
I would never exchange him for anything, for he brought me so much joy
I sit here and think about his furry head with his white strip
Each day I kissed it, even if it was just the tip
He was my gift from God, through him, I saw God's love
But now I know, he has flown up in Heaven like a dove
His wings spread and his paws running towards the Lord
And as he sees Christ, he smiles, and a cup of water for him is poured
It seems like yesterday I was holding his paw
The paw of my Best friend, the paw I once saw
But I will see him again, I will see him when I go there
Where the Sunshine shines, and there is love with great care
I just want you to know Kerby, YOU meant the world to me
Through you, I have learned how to see
To see how love should really be shown during our days
Showing me God's great wonders and all of his ways
You were not just a Golden Retriever Lab or a dog
But you were my best friend who helped through the rain and the fog
For the Lord is with you my true friend
My love, and my proudness of you, I send
Never will I forget you, for you will always be here
Within in my heart, you will always be near
As the tears stroll down my face, I know you are doing great
For I know that you were not given to me by fate
But given to me through God's grace
And through his grace, through you, I got to see a little more of Heaven and how it is an amazing place
