Aik was a hero, he was a hero in the eyes of the police department the citzens and my entire family. One day in 2005, I came home from school my mom was sitting at the computer. She said dad and Aik were at the hospital because his heart murmer was fatel. She said we call from my dad around 4:00 saying if Aik had died or not. Sure enough, we got a call 4:30 saying -you guessed it- he had died. I know he's in a better place now. I cried that day, dispite my parents reasurence of him being in a better place, I still cried. To this day, when I visit my nanny's house I see a photo of her and Aik together on her wall. But in my eyes the police department's eyes and most of all, my family's eyes he was a true K-9 hero.
