I wake up with a purr, and give a lick to my fur,
I stretch and yawn for a while.
I perk up my long ears, and without any fear,
Bound happily across the kitchen tile.
Good morning to Mommy and Daddy and Sammy,
Hello to Baby Leah, too,
I'm glad you're awake; I'm ready to take,
My food in this room with a view!
I eat my breakfast with care; all right Sammy, I'll share,
And curl on the couch for a nap.
Oh, no, Baby's coming to me; she won't let my tail be,
Oh, well, I guess I'll have to adapt!
Birds are chirping I hear! They must be quite near.
To the window I jump without fret.
I watch and meow as I quietly prowl,
Around the house I proudly protect!
With Sammy I play; I can outrun him okay,
I jump to the highest point yet!
We retire to the rug, and lay down with a thug,
I'll catch him tomorrow, I'll bet!
Dinner was served; baby's in bed,
As I settle on Mommy's lap; there's no match.
Daddy's giving a pet as I dream the best yet-
Tomorrow I'll give the rug a good scratch!
