Goodbye Zoe
by Garry Pugh
It's been over a week and I just can't stop grieving. In my dreams you are young again and we do the things you used too. I haven't cried for years, but now I cry every day. Maybe I held on too long, however, you didn't seem to suffer. When it became obvious that you were in pain I did what I had to do. The last look you came me was almost like you were saying "it's ok, I'm ready". I'll always remember and cherish the love we shared. Goodbye my friend. I pray you are in a happy place, free of the pain. Thank you for being my best friend, no other dog will ever replace you.
