Still there ...
by Deborah McGowan
Still there... I saw you in the hall last night with all my buddies there I sat down beneath your feet, but you were unaware. Then I followed you outside where silently you wept. Never knowing by your side, the vigil that I kept. Wont you see me with your heart as once with your own eyes? Time has not erased our bond, but put it in disguise. Look for me in places far beyond my little grave. Talk to me with love and laughter as you pass the day. I will be the gentle breeze that sings deep in the night. And Ill rise up with the Sun to give you warmth and light. Listen very carefully when it begins to rain Hear my footsteps walking by, to meet you once again. Lay your head then down to rest and slowly pick me up There I am within your arms, your precious little pup. Deborah Kay McGowan Copyright 2004 Deborah Kay McGowan
