"The Great Horse that we loss named Sam"
by Emily McGee
Impressive Sampson or "Sam" was born on February 13, 1996. He was a copper red and white paint horse. I loved to run and play with him in the pasture. He used to love to take anything I had out of my hand . When he started getting older and showing him at alot of the paint horse shows, I would hold him for our trainer Alan Shaw and when I would pet on him and love on him he would go to asleep on my shoulder. When Alan would have to change horses,I was always there to hold Sam. When Sam wasn't doing good in the show ring I would tell him to try to do better for me because he needed to do good. When I would lean over towards him to give him a kiss he would give me a kiss . When Sam got hurt really bad we had to rush Sam to Elgin,TX where they had to do emergency colic surgerey on him . Then the vet,Dr. Hayes called my grandmother back to the opperating room and told her that there was nothing to do for him because he was eat up with gang green because we didn't get him in time to a vet when he coliced . My grandmother came out of opperating room crying and I knew that he had died . I went and told Mr. Ted , the guy who drove us down there, that Sam had died and to call Aunt Chris and tellher that Sam had died. We just huged each other and cried for the longest time ever. We took Sam back home with us and buried him on the next day on Sunday. We buried him on a hill in front of a oak tree. We have a little horse statue that's made of concrete for his marker. I always know that he will watch out for me and wait for me and my grandmother to join him in heaven . I will always miss him and love him. I'll probaly never love a horse like I loved Sam .
