I would like to let everyone know about my beautiful black fur baby named Black Baby Ryan. She is a gorgeous 12 1/2 year old domestic longhair who talks with a crazy personality. She was unfortunately diagnosed with Mammary Gland Adenocarcinoma back in March 2005. The biopsy results gave her 6 mths to 1 1/2. She has been fighting her brave little heart out for almost 10 mths now. I just had a chest XRay done on Thursday after she developed a cough. The results showed that the Cancer has now spread to her lungs. She does not have much longer. So I am giving her steriods to keep her more comfortable and improve her lung function. She still wants to live so much and it is making it so much more difficult. I don't think I will ever have a cat the same again. She is like my furry child. I have had her since she was 3 wks old and fed her with a bottle. She actually thinks I'm her Mom I think. I am trying to gain the strength to do the inevitable. Her Cancer was a result of not spaying her before her first heat. She was 1 1/2 a little late. So I would like to ask that people spay their female cats. Especially before their first heat. Unless they will be breeding. Spaying minimizes the risk of this type of Breast Cancer in female cats. Which is common between 10-12 years old. Please send prayers for Black and any other animals that are about to leave us or are already watching over us from the rainbow bridge.
Regards,
Marcie Ryan
