My 8 year old female cat cutie was diagnosed with kidney disease about a yr and a 1/2 ago and was put on calcitrol, she continuously lost weight and a couple wks ago was down to 6.5 lbs.I brought her to the vet and the vet suggested that a prednisone shot help her gain weight, we were desperate and went with it , well right after the shot she went downhill and we could tell she was losing more weight , she stopped eating she was very reserved , and exactly a week after the shot, her kidneys failed , this was inevitable that it would happen but i feel like if we waited and did not have the shot she would be here today, I have since read that prednisone does effect kidney levels. This was the 1st pet I had lost and a very dear one at heart she was like my child .Grieving is the worst part.I dedicate this poem to my Baby Cutie
