Pennies From the Rainbow Bridge

Pennies From the Rainbow Bridge

They say pennies come from heaven,
And it certainly is true.
'Cause I pushed a penny off the Rainbow Bridge
And sent it down to you.

Cats push stuff off of things;
It's just what we do.
So I pushed a penny off the Rainbow Bridge
As a sign I'm still with you.

Pick the penny up Mama!
It's right in front of you!
I pushed it off the Rainbow Bridge
As a special gift for you.

I know that you still love me,
I feel it through and through.
So I pushed a penny off the Rainbow Bridge
So you'd know I love you too.

I know you miss my purring,
As we'd cuddle up each night.
So I pushed a penny off the Rainbow Bridge,
To tell you I'm alright.

You'd love to pet and hold me,
It's something I'd love too.
Instead I pushed a penny off the Rainbow Bridge,
'Cause it's the best that I can do.

I know how much you miss me,
But I'm still with you every day.
So I pushed a penny off the Rainbow Bridge
Because I never really went away.

Although we're not together,
It doesn't mean we're far apart.
I pushed a penny off the Rainbow Bridge
'Cause I still live within your heart.

Pennies come from Heaven
You know they really do.
So I'm pushing them off the Rainbow Bridge
Until the day I'm crossing it with you.
