Poor Justine
by Beth Lauzon
Poor Justine. My beautiful cat had such a hard life and now when she was ready to enjoy her life she died too suddenly. Justine was adopted from the SPCA 7 months ago. We were told that she was spayed. Unfortunately, Justine was not spayed, she was pregnant (second time in her 2 yr life). By the time she had kittens, we could not give her or the kittens up to the SPCA. The kittens were beautiful and Justine was the best mom cat I've seen. We adopted out the kittens and kept one for ourselves. Justine was then spayed and was finally settling down to live a quiet life. Justine finally had a home, and she loved to sit on the deck or follow me around the house. She loved the sun and was looking forward to summer. Then last wednesday she came in from outside, yelped once and died. We don't know why she died, she was fine two minutes before. So now Justine is buried under her favorite pine tree. I'm going to plant catnip above her and make it into Justine's garden. Even though she had a short life, Justine left behind two legacies: 1) The SPCA now neuters all animals before they are put up for adoption. 2) Her son - Napolean (aka "big orange") We'll miss you my friend. Dot
