Rocket Baby
by Julianne Lagerhausen
I have four cats that live in the house. I also have another cat that lives outside in a cat house. Within the last week one of my indoor cats has been diagonosed with Feline FelV. He was tested when he was a kitten, but apparently he was to young for the virus to show up. The vet said he was born with this deadly disease. This cat is the sweetest little boy you'll ever meet. He's a great lap cat and likes to make you laugh. Ever since he has been sick he is not himself. He secludes himself from the other cats and my mother is in agony. His name is Rocket and he looks like a caramel cream candy. Me, my parents, and my brother refuse to give up on our Rocket baby so we have decided to put him on a drug called interfuron. This is not a cure, but hopefully it will make him feel better. Still just the thought of this disease being the fatal end of my fur baby's life is heart wrenching. I'm just blessed that god gave me such a beatiful cat for five years. We'll see how his medicine does and I hope for the best. For everybody else out there who has lost a pet, my heart and condolences go out to you. I've been there before and I hope I can prolong the position for a while. If you have any thoughts feel free to e-mail me at Sn0b0rder03@aol.com. Your thoughts will ease mine and my family's pain. Thank you for reading.
