December 2004 - October 2023

Visit me in cat-dreams.
I loved you;
Your shy, proud presence,
Your parley by the full plate
Sharing purr-cosy evenings,
When unbidden shadows drew in.

Come to me in cat-dreams;
Not strut-boned, with staring coat;
The sure spring fading;
Lithe and skittish again,
With carriage-lantern eyes;
They stayed to the end.

Your old age fell short of mine;
The armchair calls for you
As the days become embered
And the shadows invade.
Meet me in dreams, cat-dreams;
I miss you.
