Listen Mommy
by Kathy Wyler.........................................

Listen mommy-listen daddy
There's something you should know
This little dog is happy now
You need to let me go

Let me go and play up here
In Heaven's pasture free
I'm chasing squirrels, don't you know
I wish that you could see

I've sat on Jesus' lap today
And Granny's held me too
I've played with Rudy all day long
And that old Scamp dog too

You both keep talking 'bout regrets
And guilty feelings too
About the things you did
Or things you didn't do

But none of that makes any sense
To this little dog
I just remember all the fun
And also all the love

The love you gave me for so long
And how I loved you too
So please let go of all that guilt
Because it isn't true

Mommy you keep thinking bout
The week before I died
I've watched sit and cry
I've watched you agonize

Wishing you could just go back
And somehow make it better
Make it better for this pup
When we were together

But mommy I'm ok up here
I don't remember much
Just that I got sick that week
And felt your loving touch

Your loving touch and your tears
Oh how hard you cried
And I remember daddy's tears
As he said goodbye

But now it's time to smile again
You have a life to live
Until that day when you arrive
Then kisses I will give

Daddy I will clean your ears
Like I did before
Just as soon, as you arrive
And come through Heaven's door

I love you both and won't forget
The love we three have shared
I know you won't forget me
I know how much you care

So have a happy life
Till we meet again
Boy won't that be great!
And boy won't that be grand!

Love and Kisses, Fred
