When I was 6 years old, my mom and dad decided we were going to get a cat. I was so excited when I found out. I used to cry to my mom begging her to get a cat. And we were finally getting one! When we walked into Petco they had a bunch of cats in cages lined up where people could walk up to them. We walked up, looked at a few, and then stopped at one named Cody. There was a lady who worked there standing by him telling my parents about him and how much it would cost to adopt him while my brother and I where sticking our fingers in the cage and letting him sniff and lick us. He was so sweet. My dad had turned to us and asked if we liked him. We both said yes and asked if we could get him. I don't remember much after that but I know he said yes because we ended up adopting him. When we got home we were talking about what to name him. My mom really wanted to name him something after The Beatles, so we ended up naming him Ringo. He was the sweetest. He would lay down and hang out with me, sit with me, and play with me. I remember one day he was sleeping on my parents bed so I laid down and put my arm around him and fell asleep. Sometimes when I would have trouble sleeping so I would let him in my room and would fall asleep instantly. And one night I let him in, I walked back to my bed and laid down on my back, and a minute later he jumped up on my bed and laid down on my chest. I started to pet him and as soon as I did, he started purring so loudly. I told him how much I loved him and how he was the best kitty ever. Soon after that I fell asleep and woke up to him in that same spot. I don't remember too much about when he was alive because I was younger, but I do remember one day I climbed up on my bed and he was sitting up there. I sat next to him and started talking to him and petting him. A little later I told him I loved him and walked out of my room. The next day I walked into my parents room to apologize to my mom about something when my mom started crying. I asked her if she was OK and she shook her head. I asked her why and she had told me what happened. We would let Ringo outside so whenever my dad got home from work he found him in the garage limping. He took him to the vet and told them what he knew. He must've gotten stuck under something and tried to claw his way out because apparently a few of his claws were missing from his paws, his back left leg was broken, and his pelvis was crushed. They told my dad that they could let him see a doctor in the morning to help him, but that it would cost over $10,000. He called my mom to tell her what they said before they had made the decision to put him down. My dad sat with him and told him how much we all loved him and stayed with him until he was asleep. I cried so hard. He was my first cat and I loved him so much. I still miss him so much but luckily both of my parents have cats so I can hang out with them, but it's still hard. I think about him and talk to him everyday, and tell him how much I love and miss him. I'm just glad that someday I'll see him again. I love you Kitty Man!
