Kitten Elmo
by Sharon Hoffman
My son and daughter-in-law are presently assigned in the Persian Gulf. They decided to adopt a kitten. They went to the local humane society and found not one but two kittens, Oscar and Elmo. Oscar and Elmo had been found near a large mall and a kind person brought them to the humane society. Oscar was healthy and was ready to be adopted. Little Elmo was ill with a virus and was on medication. They were told Elmo could go home with them as soon as he was well enough. My children went to visit little Elmo on several occasions and they told me he was such a sick, sad little kitty. The loving care and medications he received were to no avail. Approximately three weeks later Elmo crossed over Rainbow Bridge. My daughter-in-law was so very sad. We are going to plant a dogwood tree in his memory. I know at Rainbow Bridge the little fellow is healthy and there is someone there to love him. I told my daughter-in-law that even though they were never able to bring him home, he was aware of the love they had for him.
