About ten years ago my cousin died in a car crash. It was later in the evening and my mom and I were in the bedroom talking about death and heaven. Our family dog Copper was asleep on the floor. I looked at her and asked my mom if she thought dogs went to heaven when they died. She said she didn't know but she would like to think that they did. I went to bed shortly after thinking about my question. I honestly had no idea or opinion about it. That night the power went out. I woke up and realized there was a thunder and lightening storm going on. I saw the clock on the wall (battery operated) and it said it was 25 after 5 in the morning. I fell right back to sleep. During that sleep I had a very vivid dream that I still remember in exact detail to this day. I had a dream that I woke up and saw Copper laying on the floor in the bedroom, as she was earlier when I was talking to my mom. But this time, as she slept, a circle of light was around her with a beam heading up into the ceiling of the bedroom. In my dream is was at that moment, when I saw the light around her, that I knew dogs go to heaven. I was so happy, I got out of bed, went down on the floor, picked Copper up and hugged her. I was so happy that I knew she would be going to heaven; that animals do go to heaven. I woke up right after this part and looked at Copper still sleeping peacefully in the same spot she had been sleeping earlier and also in my dream. When I looked up at the clock on the wall it was 25 minutes after 5; the same time it was when I woke up earlier. The power had gone out but the clock on the wall was run on battery. I thought it was strange. I immediately remembered my dream, thinking it was a dream that occurred when I wasn't fully asleep but wasn't awake. I know I was in this state for longer than seconds, at least 5 minutes is the minimum it felt like, but still the clock read the exact time it read when I woke earlier. I believe God was letting me know the answer to my question; animals go to heaven when they die. I was happy in my dream knowing this because I now knew that I would be in heaven with my pets when we all have passed on.
