As our cat Precious sits on a white fluffy cloud in the sky, we realize how lucky we have been to have her in our lives for almost 14 years. Precious was a scrawny one-year-old cat, when we first spotted her in a cattery. She had just had kittens, and was living on a rural farm with horses, cows, dogs, and chickens. Her owners never really thought of Precious as their cat, so they decided to bring her to the cattery for adoption. Precious was adorable, her eyes were filled with curiosity, and her white and black stripe fur shined. Soon after the adoption, she was taken to a local vet for prevention injections, and given a long over due bath. Precious arrived in our home in a small carrier and was carefully placed downstairs in a very large family room. We were told not to allow her to roam through the house at first, due to her nervousness. Instead, it was suggested that she stay in one room, until she felt more secure. The family room had a door that separated her from the other rooms, and we stayed with her until she fell asleep. We went upstairs to our bedroom, closing the door to the family room. The next morning, we felt something next to us. Much to our surprise, Precious was curled up on our blanket and had her two little front paws on my legs. It was unbelievable how comfortable Precious looked, and how she felt the need to be with us. From that day on, Precious slept at the foot of our bed, and we never understood how she managed to open the family room door. We both know that our Precious is resting on her white, fluffy, cloud and looking down at us. We feel her presence within, and remember how she loved us unconditionally, and how we loved her. She will always be in our hearts.
