A December Visitor

A December Visitor

He had made his way in-between fences
and could not escape the wrath of my dogs. He was so scared.
I went outside and reached over the fence, but was not able
to reach the little dog. I called him again, and he tried to climb
the tree to reach me and did. I took him inside, but not before he got a bite
on his face from Oliver. I cleaned up his wound and gave him a bath.
Then I found him a collar. I took him outside, in the front, and then made
him a home in a cage that was already in the den. He cried like a baby the
first night. It made me very sad. He always did his business outside, but thought
this was now his home and wanted to mark the whole house, so he was kept
on a leash. I tried in vain to call the SPCA and ARF to take the dog,
but they would not.
So I kept the little dog. He drank water, but refused to eat the food I offered. I
did not let him go out in the back yard, as the other dogs would swallow him in
one bite. By the third day, I decided to take him to Pets Mart and see if they
could tell what kind of a dog he was. They said he looked like a Minpin. A breed
I had never heard of. They said he was about 3 years old. I then saw Miss Daisy's
teacher. She said "What dog is this?" I told her is was a homeless dog.
She then told me there was a lady and her son looking for a small dog to adopt.
I met them and they were elated. They took the dog right then. I did not even
have a chance to say "Good by", and he was gone. The little dog was un-nutered
and well endowed.
I had named him "LITTLE BIG MAN" He was a fierce little dog and lovable.
I retrieved my collar and I had to leave as the tears had come. When I got home I
thought I better go back and tell then about what I finally found the little dog
liked to eat. But they were gone. I pray the family kept him and gave him a good home.
The little dog had no collar and no tags, but looked like he had belonged to someone.
He seemed healthy. I do not even have a picture of Little Big Man, as I had not had
a chance to take one and was in no hurry as I thought he would be with me for a while.
This is the END of the story of
LITTLE BIG MAN.
