Sargeant
by Nancy Farmer
I'm not sure what to say - I am devestated because we had to put our beautiful German Shepard, Sargeant, to sleep 1 day ago. It happened so quickly, it took my husband and I by surprise. Something happened after he ate his dinner. He started to walk around the yard panting and acting very sick. We took him immediately to the Vet, and they told us his stomach had "flipped". It was very painful for Sargeant. He was 13 years old - but he was still in good health. I miss him so much, that my heart hurts. I can't bring myself to get rid of his food dish yet. I held it this morning and cried like a baby. We loved that dog since he was 8 weeks old - and now it's as if I have lost a part of myself. Sargeant - I will always love you - even though you are gone, I will always carry a part of you with me until the end of time.
