My buddy Bear
by Adam Eschbach
When I was little,we got a dog and we named him bear, bear and I were buddies from the start.I was young and bear quickly became my dads fateful companion. My dad taught him to hunt and we could tell he was a great hunting dog.He also grew attached to my grandfather. When he went small game hunting he was great and flushed alot of pheasants for me and my dad. When I got older he became my companion also, and we always played together day after day, loving every one of them. Then at near christman in 2002 disaster struck,we knew he was getting sick but on that day he couldn't even move at all. my mom told me we were gonna have to put him to sleep. I remember stroking his smooth fur and telling him it would be all right,my tears soaking his coat of fur, then my parents left, and I never saw him alive again, they came home and told me he went right to sleep. that night I couldn't sleep, and when I finally did I had a dream about losing him, and I woke up crying. The next day we buried him and made him a cross. Bear was a great dog,and when he died so did my heart and soul. But he can be sure of one thing, no other dog in the future will ever take his place in my heart because its already his property. I love you Bear!!
