Lovey, AKA Bud, was our beloved 12 year old Black Lab, who up until 2 days before her departure, was still retrieving for her master. She aimed to please, and then she would smile! I met her when she was 2 years old, and fell in love immediately. She had the cutest face, was very petite, and Very Girl! She was always there to greet you, and wait for a pat on the head or a scratch behind the ear. After we had our son, she was very gentle and very protective. We had a lot of dogs in our family growing up, but never did we have a dog with a personality like she had. She was part of our family, she was like our first born. When she didn't feel good, she needed a snuggle, when she got in trouble, she ran to Mommy.
I miss her more than I have ever missed anyone in my lifetime. I feel like I lost a part of myself. I will never forget those last few minutes of her life, as she laid her head in my lap, relaxed, and fell to sleep. It has been 3 weeks since her death and I miss her just like it was yesterday.
To my Lovey, I miss you more than words can express, and I think about you every minute of every day. I love you, your Mommy.
