SMUDGE
by PAMELA ENEIX
Smudge came into our lives when she was a week old. The poor little thing had been left by the momma cat outside a school. My daughter found her and brought her to the car. I didnt know what to do. We took her home and kept her warm while calling the vet for instructions. He gave us the help we needed to help her live and thrive. We nursed her with an eye dropper until she learned to suck and could drink from the pet bottle. Between myself and my husband we did the two am feeding task. She thrived and became a part of the family and our hearts. She was part Siamese and very loyal to me. She slept with me followed me where ever I went at home. Of course she was an indoor cat couldnt risk losing her to the cruel world. Smudge thrived and lived to the old age of 20 years with all the love and care she received. On Jan 18, 2003 we had to make the awful choice to put her down. She had been sick for several months and with the help of our wonderful vet Kelly Rehmer had perked up made it through the holidays. Old age finally caught up with her and we put her in God's hands. She is missed terribly and was my very best friend. Pam.
