Many people have had animals touch their lives in special ways. I work on a horse farm and have been in contact with horses for most of my life. Mystic and Cupcake, two beautiful mares living on two different farms, were very special to me, and have gone on to a better place where they know no pain.
Mystic Moon Dancer (Mystic) was a beautiful light grey mare I knew when I was taking riding lessons at a farm. She was a boarder horse, but I bonded with her since the day she came. She was the first horse I said hello to and the last horse I said goodbye too. Mystic was very sweet and I often gave her treats. In December of 1998, Mystic contracted colic. She was walked around and looked as though she would be okay, and that she would be fine. I told her I was glad she was feeling better and stroked her nose. She died in the night. Mystic is the first horse I have really cried over. Although she was not mine, she held a special place in my heart and always will.
Cupcake was a little cremello pony that had a rough life. She was auctioned off as a baby, separate from her mother, but grew up, was trained and sold. This family did not too much about horses and she had foundered and had eaten dirt. The farm I work at now, took her in when she was 5. When I saw her, she was very skinny and had weird things on her feet that were in no way helping her. Another person and I took her out and groomed her and removed the foot "pads". Cupcake blossomed very quickly and was a very perky and happy little pony. If she had not been named, I would have called her Joy, for she made me smile when I saw her. Tragically, Cupcake suffered a stomach rupture at the end of the summer, and that pony, with a future so bright, left us.
Mystic and Cupcake. Two beautiful mares that God had created are now free from any pain and are galloping and having fun in the golden meadows of Heaven! I wait for the day when I shall see them again. I love you Mystic and Cupcake!
