"Saying Goodbye To A Good Friend"
My first best friend didnt have two legs instead he had four,
My first best friend, was a yorkshire terrier named Horse.
He was my birthday present the year I turned three,
When he was being house-trained, everywhere you looked there was poop and pee.
But like a good dog, he learned to use the newspaper right,
He used to jump up on the bed and snuggle with me at night.
He used to roll over, would do all sorts of tricks for a doggy treat,
But now all he has done for the past few months is lay around, eat , and sleep.
I have so many memories, just me and my childhood dog,
I sure am gonna miss him, when he is gone.
It seems only yesterday, you were just a puppy, in the yard running around,
But now the vet is telling us, you are fading, its time to put you down.
Please Horse, don't make us chose, if you are are gonna live in pain or peacefully die,
Please Horse dont do this to me, please don't make me cry.
The vet says the best she can give you is one, maybe two days,
HORSE PLEASE GET UP!!! please, show them you are ok.
If you go now, who is gonna bark, when someone knocks on the door,
Who is gonna chase your favorite ball around the floor?
Who is gonna be here to be excited when I come home , from being away,
Who's going to be here to brighten even my worst of days.
Though I wish I didn't have to, I have to set you free,
You brought me 18 years of joy, and youve earned youre chance to rest in peace.
Please don't take him back yet, he is still able to breathe,
Please don't take my best friend ever away from me.
The hurt, the pain I feel, I can't begin to tell,
When you die Horse, a part of me, is going to die as well.
I am out of time, I have to let you go now Horse, please dont be mad at me,
Dont worry Horse, it will all be ok, just close your eyes now, it's time to go to sleep.
