My Princess
Today I lost one of my dearest friends
a friend of many years.
She passed on gently and quietly
and I’ve never shed so many tears.
Now there is a void in my life,
that my God will help me through.
You see He knows of a lost love,
because He lost a loved one too.
Although my friend was only a dog
she was like my child to me.
My Princess never let me down
always faithful and loving you see.
If I had only been there when she died
I would have held her oh so tight.
I know she would have felt all my love
before she saw her final light.
But I still have all my memories
that no-one can take away.
So rest in peace my sweet Princess
I’ll see you again some day .
