You came to me so little and unsure.
I cared for and loved you which is all you were hoping for.
You started to grow and showed your love in return
with loyalty, kisses and all the tricks you had learned.
You were always by my side up until the day
I got married and had to move away.
Time seemed to pass so fast
And your puppy days were now in the past.
It became hard for you to walk and see
I just kept saying"please hold on for me."
When the day had arrived
I held you in my arms and cried
I should have said so much more
As I sat with you on the floor
I am glad I was with you at the end
My beautiful puppy and faithful friend
With this poem I send all my love
to you my spunky in heaven above.
