When I first met you you were a big ball of fur,
Cooped up in a tiny cage
So strong and and bold and loving,
And all of 5 years of age.

I brought you home but you rescued me,
You patched up my broken heart
You brought me my first smile since Dad died,
And we loved you right from the start.

Thank you for all the cuddles and love,
For all your sass, and your funny little winks
I love your soft calming energy,
Big green eyes doing slow blinks.

You are beautiful inside and out,
You are our little tiny treasure,
If there's one thing I hope you know,
It's that you are loved beyond measure.

We have made a tough choice, and we want you to know,
It's not that we don't want you anymore
We simply don't want all this pain for you,
And the good days aren't good like before.

We now take the bravest soldier out of the battle,
As it's clear that this war can't be won
And though we still want you by our side,
We can't let you fight on and on.

And we don't want you to pass in distress,
So this is our final act of love
But please don't think we love you any less,
Heaven's waiting for you high above.

As you cross the bridge, do not be afraid,
I am there with you in spirit by your side
A wonderful world awaits you now,
I hope that you have enjoyed the ride.

Heaven is waiting for its newest angel,
And you're about to get your wings,
And you'll still feel our love up there,
And you'll have all of your favourite things.

I think that you will be amazed -
You'll be pain free and full of beans
Drumsticks galore and Dreamies for days,
You'll not remember what suffering means.

You'll be lying on the softest clouds,
I am sure you will now rest easy,
You'll be basking in all the sunbeams,
Our brave and beautiful Phoebe.

And I am sure that we'll soon find comfort
In all the many memories that we shared
Should you hear us cry, don't be sad,
Each tear is just because we cared.

To our beloved furry friend,
